Job Summary
The Facilities Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) operations for clinical and pre-clinical drug manufacturing by ensuring equipment and facilities are operational, safe, reliable, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, calibration and repairs of manufacturing equipment and instruments
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make repairs or adjustments as needed
- Assist with installation and modification of manufacturing equipment systems
- Schedule and or provide support to maintenance and calibration contractors
- Maintain and develop effective preventative maintenance programs
- Document repairs, adjustments and replacement of equipment per SOPs and GMP requirements
- Manage the organization and inventory of spare parts
- Participate in general building maintenance
- Complete other duties as assigned by management
Key Qualifications
- Industry experience or technical degree/certification
- Preferred experience in GMP facility maintenance; experience working with established procedures in the calibration and maintenance of utility, process and lab equipment
- Strong troubleshooting skills in HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, mechanical, and purified water systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate across all disciplines both in writing and verbally
- Strong attention to detail and diligent follow through
- Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with company guidelines
- Capable of working in a cleanroom environment for extended periods of time in appropriate personal protective equipment, e.g., powered air-purifying respirator, glove ports, flow hoods, etc.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for extended periods of time
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a semi frequent basis
- Able to maintain good personal hygiene
Compensation
$21.00 – $26.00 per hour
