Job Summary
The Facilities Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) operations for clinical and pre-clinical drug manufacturing by ensuring equipment and facilities are operational, safe, reliable, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs preventative maintenance, calibration, and repairs of manufacturing equipment, systems and instruments
  • Executes equipment and systems qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes repairs or adjustments as needed
  • Assists with installation and modification of manfuacturing equipment systems
  • Provide facility maintenance including but not limited to: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, mechanical and construction.
  • Schedules and provides support to maintenance and calibration contractors
  • Maintains and develops effective preventative maintenance programs
  • Documents repairs, adjustments, and replacement of equipment per SOPs and GMP requirements
  • Manages the organization and inventory of spare parts
  • Provides / assists with after hours on call emergency support
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent industry experience is required
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry is preferred, with a working knowledge of biotech / pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) being a plus
  • Proven experience in performing corrective and preventative maintenance, including troubleshooting and investigating system failures
  • Strong background in working with electrical and mechanical/systems
  • Experience in calibration of equipment
  • Prior experience in qualifying and commissioning of equipment and systems is preferred
  • Familiarity with HVAC, refrigeration, RO/DI water makeup, and other process systems a plus
Technical Requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate across all disciplines both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to read and understand equipment and system drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and diligent follow through
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with company guidelines
  • Ability to adhere/respond to established time frames and schedules
  • Able to learn and apply new maintenance techniques after appropriate training
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Physical Requirements
  • Capable of working in a cleanroom environment for extended periods of time in appropriate personal protective equipment e.g. Glove Ports, Flow Hoods etc
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a semi frequent basis
  • Able to maintain good personal hygiene

    Compensation
    $23.00 – $27.00 per hour
